Overview

Convergence Point was my senior capstone project, and my focus was technical design and gameplay systems design.

During this project, I had the privilege of really pushing myself—designing and implementing various systems, all while leading a fairly new team of game devs.

As the technical and creative lead behind Convergence Point, I was tasked with helping the team design, implement, and manage a proof of concept (vertical slice) for our game's vision. During this time, I trained the team to use Unreal Engine 5, since most of them were students like myself who had little to no experience working on games in a professional setting.

  1. Led a team of 6 computer science students for our capstone project.
  2. Created and managed several technical documentation for gameplay systems, UI, and more.
  3. Designed a modular cross-platform UI using Unreal Motion Graphics, Common UI, and State Trees.
  4. Made various C++-focused systems, including our core Possession mechanic.
  5. Oversaw our Sprint lifecycle using Jira for project management
  6. Integrated our game features and shipped our Vertical Slice to Steam.
